  • Dr.Theiss evening primrose intensive ointment. The evening primrose takes its name from its large, bright yellow flowers that only open in the evening. The fat oil of the ripe seeds is rich in valuable, essential fatty acids (98%), phospholipids and sterols. Its content of cis-linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid is particularly noteworthy.

    - Without perfume, without dyes and without preservatives
    - Skin compatibility dermatologically tested
Special care accompanying therapy for neurodermatitis and dry skin

Evening primrose oil is one of the most expensive oils in the world because around ten thousand seeds are required to extract one gram of oil.

The Indians of North America already knew the effects of evening primrose oil. They collected the seeds, crushed them and made skin envelopes from them. However, scientific research into evening primrose oil and the essential fatty acids it contained did not begin until the beginning of the 20th century.

Special care accompanying therapy for neurodermatitis and dry skin. Atopic dermatitis (also atopic dermatitis) is a genetically caused overreaction to allergenic environmental substances. In addition, psychological factors (e.g. stress) also often play a role. A chronic, non-contagious skin disease is characterized by a relapse, which is associated with redness, scaling, itching and inflammation of the skin.

The skin affected by neurodermatitis is much more sensitive than normal skin. It has too little fat and moisture content and is therefore more susceptible to harmful influencing factors. The result is dry, rough skin, itching and inflammation. The valuable essential fatty acids, cis-linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid contained in the evening primrose seed oil (Oenothera biennis L.) help the skin to promote the development of the natural barrier function and provide it with fat and moisture. By adding urea, squalane, jojoba oil and guaiazulen, problematic skin is permanently protected from drying out and supported in its ability to regenerate.

Dr. Theiss evening primrose skin balm with 7% evening primrose oil, is therefore an ideal basic care to accompany therapy for neurodermatitis and is ideal for the sensitive skin of babies and toddlers.
