Food for a Healthy Heart

The Omega-3 fatty acids play an important role in maintaining the health of our cardiovascular system.

To this finding, scientists came through a phenomenon in the Eskimos. Although they are not optimally nourished - one-sided and much fat - their circulation is often healthy and efficient until old age.

However, much of their diet consists of cold-water fish, which are particularly rich in omega-3 fatty acids . Today, it is known that omega-3 fatty acids are important nutrients for balancing cholesterol and lipid levels in the body.

If you prefer fish as a food less, but there are also purely herbal alternatives, such as purslane. The small leafy vegetable with its nutty-salty taste supplies the body not only with potassium, iron, magnesium and provitamin A, but with an unusually high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids for a plant.

The healthy food for the heart and arteries is not only known under the name of purslane, but also among cep, winter postelein and cuba spinach.

A small downer is, however, that the body has yet to convert herbal omega-3 before the body can use it. Omega-3 from coldwater fish, the body can significantly use better .
