For determining the vaginal pH value - helps to detect bacterial infections at an early stage.
Bacterial infections are the most common cause of premature birth and can develop within 2-3 days.
An uncomfortable feeling, itching or burning in the intimate area sets off alarm bells for every woman. The acidic vaginal environment is normally below a pH value of 4.4 and forms a natural protective barrier against bacteria and germs.
The naturally occurring lactic acid bacteria ensure a healthy acid balance in the intimate area.
Hormone changes or external influences can reduce the number of lactic acid bacteria in favor of harmful bacteria and increase the risk of infection.
The distance between check-ups by your doctor or midwife is often too long to detect and treat a possible infection.
With the ELANEE® pH test, you can quickly and easily check your pH value at home at any time.
Advantages of the ELANEE pH test:
Fast and hygienic measurement of the vaginal pH value Supports early detection of bacterial vaginal infections and helps prevent premature birth Easy to use at home Individually wrapped vaginal applicators Color scale on each individual packaging for direct comparison The result can be read immediately Result history possible in the test diary
Areas of application A pH above 4.4 indicates a shift in the acid balance.
It thus provides an indication of the risk or the presence of a bacterial infection in the intimate area. If a shift in the pH value is recognized early on, the milieu can be brought back to a normal level using natural means such as a lactic acid treatment.
Untreated bacterial vaginal infections are a common cause of reduced fertility. If bacterial infections go unnoticed during pregnancy, they can rise and increase the risk of
preterm labor premature rupture of membranes, premature birth, bacterial infection of the fetus, fever during childbirth, Inflammation of the skin (chorioamnionitis) and Inflammation of the womb lining after childbirth (endometritis post partum).
The use of the ELANEE pH test is therefore useful in the following cases:
If bacterial vaginosis is suspected If a disturbed balance (dysbiosis) is suspected After anti-infective therapy (e.g. treatment with antibiotics) As part of preventive medical check-ups during pregnancy During pregnancy If there is a known risk of premature birth After sexual contact with a new partner In the event of intimate problems Before and after vaginal surgery (in the case of injuries that have not yet completely healed, only after consultation with the doctor.)
