The brand’s success story began in 1890 when the German master hairdresser and alchemist Josef Wilhelm Rausch developed his first hair tonic from herbal juices, tinctures and extracts and, a short time later, the first liquid hair washing soap "Champooing". In 1949, Rausch was taken over by Joseph Baumann Widmer. His son, Marco Baumann, helped with the herb harvest from an early age. “These are wonderful memories”, Marco Baumann looks back with pleasure. “Chamomile, horsetail, ribwort, mallow, sage - these plants and ingredients are my life.” Rausch is now in the third generation and looks back on a 125-year success story.

Each product has the highest possible proportion of natural active ingredients. 43 extracts are obtained in-house using the most gentle methods. The company cooperates with Swiss contract farmers, far from monocultures. The cultivation of the herbs is strictly controlled and harvest is only done at the ideal time.
