The essential oils of thyme (Thymus vulgaris) have a stimulating effect on the ciliated epithelium of the upper respiratory tract and thus have an expectorant and expectorant effect. In addition, the ingredients of thyme have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Thyme tea is therefore suitable for the supportive treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract with thick mucus, such as bronchitis and coughs.

Boiling water (approx. 150 ml) is poured over 2 teaspoons (approx. 2 g) of thyme and poured through a tea strainer after about 10 to 15 minutes.
Drink the freshly prepared tea as hot as possible.
