The Manuka plant is a traditional medicinal tree of the New Zealand natives ( Maori ). It was used to combat wound infections, bladder diseases, gastrointestinal disorders and colds.
What does "MGO™" mean?
MGO™ stands for Methylglyoxal, the naturally occurring compound that distinguishes Manuka Honey from other honeys and makes it so so special.
The manufacturer's research partners, the scientists at the TU Dresden, discovered methylglyoxal (MGO™) as the decisive active ingredient in Manuka honeys.
In 2008, Manuka Health pioneered the development and introduction of MGO™ certification of Manuka honeys using the TU Dresden method. The MGO™ certification of Manuka Health means that every jar of honey in New Zealand is tested and certified for its MGO™ strength, purity and quality according to Prof. Henle's method. -
To strengthen the immune system or to support colds and infections, it is best to take a teaspoon at least once a day.
You can stir the Manuka-Honige also into hot tea or milk, because the active substance MGO™ is to a large extent heat-insensitive.
It is most effective pure, as slowly as possible from the spoon lick (as with ice cream, only much healthier!)
