Cranberry (Lingonberry) Capsules is food supplement with cranberry extract and vitamin C. The fruits have always been considered very healthy. They are characterized by a high potassium and vitamin C content, which is far higher than that of other domestic fruits. The fruit juice is appetizing. In addition, other health-promoting effects are ascribed to the fruits. In particular, the secondary plant substances contained in the berries, such as anthocyanins, play a role.
The lingonberry (lat. Vaccinium vitis-idaea) is at home in the coniferous forests, dry heaths and moors of northern and central Europe to Siberia and in the Alps. Its North American counterpart is the cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon). The bright red berries taste very sour and astringent raw. Because of their high pectin content, they gel easily and are ideal for making compotes and jams.
According to the nutrition report of the German Nutrition Society, the secondary plant substances in the body have a similar function to vitamins and minerals. An increased consumption of these substances is therefore aimed for. Anthocyanins have a high anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potential. They are even superior to vitamin C and vitamin E in this regard.The tannin tannin is also abundant in cranberries.
4 capsules correspond to the consumption of a small glass of cranberry juice. This provides approx. 12.4 mg of anthocyanins. In addition, 4 capsules already provide three times the daily requirement of vitamin C.
