Ingredients | Function during pregnancy | |
Folic Acid Plus (Combination of folic acid andL-methylfolate) |
400 µg (consisting of 200 µg folic acid and 208 µgL‑methylfolate) |
Folate contributes to the normal growth of maternal tissue such as the placenta and is therefore important throughout your pregnancy. Your baby is supplied with all nutrients via the placenta. Folate also supports normal blood formation and has an important function in cell division. Femibion® 2 Pregnancy contains Folic Acid Plus - a combination of folic acid and L-methylfolate. L-methylfolate is a form of folate that can be used directly by the body. |
Choline | 130mg | Choline is a vitamin-like nutrient and is often classified as a B vitamin. You absorb choline through your diet - foods that contain choline include meat, eggs and fish. During pregnancy, your body has an increased need for choline. That is why we have included choline in the Femibion®-2 formula. More and more research data shows that choline plays an important role in fat metabolism, including the transport of fats, and in the form of phosphatidylcholine (phospholipid) is an important component of all our cell membranes. In addition, choline contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism, which is also important during pregnancy. |
Vitamin B1 | 1.4mg | Vitamin B1 contributes to the maintenance of your normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of your nervous system. |
Vitamin B2 | 1.4mg | Vitamin B1 contributes to the maintenance of your normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of your nervous system. |
Vitamin B2 | 1.4mg | Vitamin B2 contributes to the maintenance of your normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of your nervous system. |
Pantothenic acid | 6.0mg | Pantothenic acid helps you reduce tiredness and fatigue. |
Vitamin B6 | 1.9mg | Vitamin B6 helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. |
Vitamin B12 | 4.5 µg | Vitamin B12 plays a role in cell division. It also helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. |
Biotin | 40 µg | Biotin contributes to the maintenance of your normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of your nervous system. |
niacin | 15mg | Niacin helps you reduce tiredness and fatigue. |
magnesium | 75mg | Magnesium is involved in many physiological processes and functions in your body. It contributes to normal muscle function and the functioning of your nervous system. It also helps you reduce tiredness and fatigue and supports the maintenance of your normal energy metabolism. |
iron | 14mg | Iron plays a role in cell division in your body and helps reduce tiredness. It contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin. During your pregnancy, there is an increase of ~30% in hemoglobin and ~35% in the mass of your red blood cells. Since our body cannot produce iron, it must be obtained through food. Animal foods in particular are good sources of iron. Femibion® 2 Pregnancy contains 14 mg of iron to support your iron intake in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, when your physiological iron requirements are significantly increased. |
