This is a means of preventing caries, supporting the treatment of initial caries and treating hypersensitive tooth necks.
It is used to prevent tooth decay (caries prophylaxis), especially in children, adolescents and patients with braces, other orthodontic (orthodontic) appliances and partial dentures.
It is used to support the treatment of incipient caries (initial caries) and to treat hypersensitive tooth necks. -
When used at home
-
For adults and children from the age of 6:
- Apply about 1 cm of gel (about 0.5 g of gel corresponding to 6.25 mg of fluoride) to the toothbrush once a week and brush your teeth.
- Rinse after 2 to 3 minutes. The total application time (cleaning and exposure time) must not exceed 5 minutes. Best used in the evening before going to bed. For the targeted treatment of hypersensitive tooth necks, the drug should be applied to the affected areas. The drug should not be used until spitting up the foam has been mastered.
When used in the dental practice
-
Use about twice a year as part of dental treatment or for individual prophylactic activities, or several times a year for patients with a high risk of caries:
- in the Miniplast splint approx. 3 g gel (equivalent to approx. 37.5 mg fluoride);
- Apply with a blunt cannula from a filled disposable syringe to the occlusal surfaces and into the interdental spaces (0.5 to 1 g gel, corresponding to 6.25 to 12.5 mg fluoride).
- The use of the Miniplast splint is indicated from the 8th year of life.
- A sufficient contact time of the dental gel with the teeth (at least 2 to 4 minutes) must be guaranteed. However, it must not exceed 5 minutes. After use, rinse off.
- The drug may be used in children from the age of 3 years who are under dental control because of an increased risk of caries. This applies to children in individual prophylaxis as well as to those in group prophylaxis. After use, rinse with water.
When used in group prevention
- As part of group prophylactic activities, brush your teeth with the drug about twice a year, especially in children and adolescents with an increased risk of caries, several times a year. Rinse after 2 to 3 minutes. The total application time (cleaning and exposure time) must not exceed 5 minutes.
Please talk to your doctor/dentist or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
