Recommendations for the daily routine against blackheads and pimples

Acne creams, lotions, gels, facial tonic, tonics, peelings, moisturizers and concealers: if you are looking for cleansing and care products for blemished or acne-prone skin, you are usually faced with a seemingly confusing range. And many of these products are also helpful - but which ones? To do this, you should first understand how oily skin occurs or how a blackhead or pimple occurs:

01 Microinflammations
According to the latest scientific research, the triggers for acne are microinflammations in the skin that are invisible to the naked eye and which set the acne process in motion.

02 Seborrhea
This means that the skin produces increased sebum, mostly due to hormonal changes.

03 Hyperkeratosis
At the same time, the outer layer of skin thickens and dead skin cells are not shed quickly enough.

04 Plug formation
This clogs the sebum ducts and leads to open and closed comedones, i.e. blackheads and pimples.

05 Visible inflammation
Normally harmless bacteria on the skin can multiply - the body reacts with inflammation that becomes visible as a red pimple

What properties should suitable products for cleaning and care have?

• Non-comedogenic
  Non-comedogenic products avoid blemishes that can lead to pimples or blackheads. They are composed in such a way that they do not clog the pores of the skin and blackheads do not provide a basis for their formation.
• Not greasy
  Skin that is prone to blemishes already produces too much sebum - therefore care products should not have an additional greasy effect.
• Comedolytic
  This means that these products help to open pimples and break up blackheads.

 

• Keratolytic
  Such products have a horn-loosening effect. That is, they help the peeling of dead skin cells.
  
• Mild, gentle, balanced pH value
  Make sure that the care products you use do not irritate the skin additionally. Avoid products that are too aggressive. In the case of acne, it can also be very useful to use products with a lower pH value so that it is lowered - this is good for the complexion.
