Pure Valerian vs. Complex Valerian: Which is More Effective?

Pure valerian is effective for mild nervous tension and sleep support, but it may take weeks to show full benefits. Complex valerian formulas combine valerian with synergistic herbs like hops (which contains sleep-promoting compounds), lemon balm (reduces sleep latency), passionflower (increases GABA), or B-vitamins (support nervous system). Studies suggest that valerian-hops combinations work faster and produce deeper sleep than valerian alone due to additive sedative effects.
