Herpotherm est un produit médical breveté pour le traitement local des symptômes associés à l'herpès, tels que brûlures, picotements, démangeaisons ou tiraillements. Herpotherm agit exclusivement par chaleur concentrée et sans aucun produit chimique. Il convient donc également aux femmes enceintes, aux personnes allergiques et aux enfants (à partir de 12 ans). L'application de chaleur concentrée (hyperthermie locale) est un principe d'action physique prometteur, basé sur l'effet bref et concentré de la chaleur sur une zone cutanée bien définie. À des températures ambiantes d’environ 50 °C, les virus de l’herpès sont thermolabiles. Au contact direct de cette température, ils sont inactivés. Cela peut empêcher le virus de l’herpès de se multiplier.
L'application d'Herpotherm est discrète et ne laisse aucune trace sur la peau. Grâce à son absence totale de produits chimiques, les effets secondaires indésirables des comprimés et des pommades sont évités. Herpotherm est donc idéal pour les femmes enceintes, les personnes allergiques et les enfants de plus de 12 ans.

What is Herpotherm Original used for?

How does Herpotherm work?
Herpotherm applies local hyperthermia (about 50-51 °C) for a brief period to the affected area, which can inactivate herpes viruses and reduce symptom development.
When should I use Herpotherm for best results?
Use it as early as possible, ideally at the first signs of a cold sore (prodromal symptoms like tingling or burning), to help prevent blister formation.
Is Herpotherm chemical-free and safe for sensitive users?
Yes — it contains no medicinal or chemical agents and is suitable for pregnant women, allergy sufferers, and children (from 12 years old) for their own use.
How do I use the device correctly?
Remove the protective cap, place the ceramic contact surface onto the affected skin, activate the device, which heats up to around 51 °C, hold it for about 3 seconds, then replace the cap; follow hygiene guidelines.
Can I reuse Herpotherm on the same outbreak or area?
Yes — multiple treatments on the same skin site are allowed, but leave a break of at least 2 minutes between applications on the same spot.
Who should not use Herpotherm?
Not suitable for use on eyes/eyelids, mucous membranes, open wounds/blisters, burnt or scalded skin, severe neuropathy (reduced pain or temperature sensitivity), or malignant skin changes.
What kind of sensations or side effects are possible?
Some discomfort, brief warmth or tingling, and sometimes temporary redness of the skin in sensitive users; more serious reactions are rare.
Can Herpotherm shorten a cold sore outbreak?
Yes — when used early, it can prevent blister formation, or if a blister has already appeared, it may reduce the severity or speed up recovery relative to standard creams.
Is Herpotherm only for lip herpes, or can it be used on genital herpes?
While primarily indicated for herpes simplex labialis (cold sores on lip), studies show Herpotherm is also well tolerated and may help in treating genital herpes when used appropriately.
