Sit comfortably and relaxed in an armchair with armrests or at a table on which you can put your arms slightly bent

Do not cross your legs

Lean back and arms or support them in some other way the middle of the cuff must be on the upper arm at heart level

Free your left arm and place your forearm on the table. The pulse can be felt with the fingertips on the inside of the upper arm, about 2.5 cm above the crook of the arm.

Make sure that when you roll up your clothes, you don't get on your arm, which could impair your blood circulation. It is better to take off tight clothing before measuring.

Slip the opened cuff over your arm until the lower edge of the cuff is approx. 2 - 3 cm above the elbow. The rubber hoses must lead downwards out of the cuff. Take particular care that the membrane built into the cuff comes to rest on the previously determined pulse point. The more precisely the support point of the membrane, the clearer and louder the artefacts can be heard.

Be as relaxed as possible and not talk while measuring your blood pressure.
