Den ægte kamille (Matricaria chamomilla) er en art af solsikkefamilien. Oprindeligt udbredt i Syd- og Østeuropa, findes den nu i stort set hele Europa.


Den ægte kamille blev i 1987 udnævnt til årets første lægeplante af den tyske apotekerforening (VDD).

Den blev også kåret til årets lægeplante i 2002.

1 heaped tablespoon full (approx. 3 g) of chamomile flowers is poured over with boiling water (approx. 150ml), covered and after about 5 - 10 minutes poured through a tea strainer if necessary.For drinking, gargling, rinsing, inhaling and for compressing after making a tea infusion.For the preparation of baths.
