Maca GPH 350 mg Capsules 120 pcs
The parent plant of Maca is Lepidium meyenii walp. (Family of the Brassicaceae). The plant is basically a distant relative of our cress. Lepidium meyenii has been used as a vegetable for at least 2000 years. Their underground organs are thickened in a bulbous shape and have a high nutritional value. The plant is to a high degree frost-resistant, which is why it is the only food plant that occurs naturally and is cultivated in the Andes at altitudes between 3500 and 4500 m.
The aboveground green parts of the plant have been used as vegetables in the kitchen by the inhabitants of the region for centuries. The roots are only partially considered food, although they have great nutritional value. Rather, they are used in rituals related to fertility and masculinity.
Maca GPH capsules contain 350 mg maca root powder, 1.4 mg vitamin B1, 1.6 mg vitamin B2, 2 mg vitamin B6, 3 µg vitamin B12 and 17.5 mg zinc gluconate in a hard gelatine capsule.
The powder contains carbohydrates, lipids and proteins in amounts that are similar to those of dried potatoes with the exception of the high protein content. In addition to the high protein content, the roots contain minerals such as iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium, but also almost all vitamins. There are also around 300 substances such as odorous substances, coloring agents and essential oils.
In Spain, in the Middle Ages, the powder ground into flour replaced wheat flour in the kitchen. This is where the term love cake or love bread comes from . Maca is a tonic and provides impetus for both men and women.
