DAOSiN® for food intolerance due to histamine intolerance. A dietary supplement containing the enzyme DiAminOxidase (DAO) to aid in the breakdown of dietary histamine. In particular, foods that are ripened for a long time or stored for a long time have a high content of histamine and other biogenic amines.

  • Supplements the body's own DAO enzyme to break down histamine in the intestine
  • 1 tablet contains 0.3 mg diamine oxidase
  • 1 tablet 15 minutes before a meal containing histamine

Histamine can be produced by the body itself, but is also ingested with food. Food that matures or is stored for a long time has a particularly high histamine content. Foods high in histamine include, for example

  • alcohol (especially red wine),
  • aged cheese,
  • seafood, fish,
  • air-dried or smoked meat products (e.g. salami or bacon),
  • Sauerkraut,
  • Various types of vegetables (e.g. tomatoes, spinach or aubergines),
  • Different types of fruit (e.g. strawberries, pineapples or bananas) or
  • Chocolate

If you take a DAOSiN® tablet about 15 minutes before eating a histamine-containing meal, the amount of the histamine-degrading DAO enzyme in the small intestine increases - and with it the willingness to break down excess histamine. Thus, the effects of histamine intolerance on the body can be reduced.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Daosin capsules and who are they for?

Daosin capsules contain the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) and are designed for adults with histamine intolerance to help break down dietary histamine in the intestine

How does Daosin help reduce histamine intolerance symptoms?

By supplementing the body's endogenous DAO, Daosin boosts histamine degradation in the small intestine before it enters the bloodstream

What is the recommended dosage for Daosin capsules?

Take one capsule with water approximately 15 minutes before a histamine-containing meal; do not exceed three capsules per day

How much DAO is in each capsule?

Each Daosin capsule delivers 0.3 mg of diamine oxidase enzyme, extracted from pig kidney protein (4.2 mg total protein extract)

What symptoms may Daosin help alleviate?

Supplementary DAO may ease digestive problems, headaches, skin rashes, and other symptoms linked to histamine intolerance, although more research is needed

Is there clinical evidence supporting Daosin’s effectiveness?

Some small-scale studies report symptom relief in those with DAO deficiency, but broader clinical validation is limited

How does histamine intolerance develop and how does DAO help?

Histamine intolerance can result from inadequate DAO activity, leading to histamine accumulation; supplementing DAO supports its breakdown in the gut

Are there dietary tips to enhance Daosin’s effectiveness?

To support DAO activity, avoid histamine-rich foods, store foods fresh, and ensure sufficient intake of vitamins B6 and C

Is Daosin absorbed into the bloodstream?

No — the DAO enzyme in Daosin remains confined to the digestive tract and is excreted as is .

What precautions should users be aware of?

Do not chew the capsule; users on medications should consult a doctor to avoid interactions; nutritional supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet.
