Since 2018, Galderma - the company behind Cetaphil - has decided to rename the sun protection cream Daylong. In Germany, the products will be marketed as Cetaphil Sun Daylong from January 2019 onwards. The blue-green logo of the moisturizing cream is printed dominantly on the tube and pack. The brand Daylong is still in a smaller font size above Cetaphil. This way, the products have a high recognition value despite the name change. This is also made clear by color coding in the orange typical of the brand. The formulations and prices remain the same.
The brand story goes back to 1947, when an American pharmacist developed a new dermatological cleansing lotion with the aim of creating a compatible alternative to conventional soap. Dermatologists quickly realized that Cetaphil, due to its special formulation, was a real alternative to conventional soap and recommended the cleansing lotion to their patients.
Since the 80s, Cetaphil has been indispensable as high-quality dermatological care in the USA. However, the brand established itself not only in the USA but all over the world. Today, Cetaphil is available in over 80 countries.
The particular challenge of strengthening and protecting sensitive skin has led over the years to an extensive and innovative product portfolio for face, body and hands. Today, the brand offers not only high-quality and gentle basic skin care but also special skin care for skin diseases.
